I tried the instructions from Google but they are not correct. Perhaps it needs updating for the latest interface layout.
What I did was:
1. Log in to https://www.google.com/analytics
2. On the top left, click 'All Accounts'
3. Click 'Accounts List' button
4. Click 'Admin' button on the top left corner
5. Click on the Account I want to get in to, then the 'Data Sources' tab.
6. Click 'Adsense' tab
7. Click 'Link Account'
