Update 7th Oct 2011: For the past few weeks the Rogers messages are only going to Digicel phones, not to any Bmobile phones.
 
I came across another Trini blogger who posted about a foreign service we can use to send free SMS to our local cell phones, both Green and Red for free. I want to remind everyone that this service must not be abused and only used with good intent, and by using it you agree to Rogers' terms and conditions. Once it is respected and used properly it will remain online and for free.

Digicel (postpaid and prepaid) users already have free web based SMS to other Digicel phones that regenerate every month (but does not roll over) whether you top up or not. It seems you can only send to phone numbers you add to the Rogers address book, not by just typing it in for a new message. Delivery for the few messages I have tried was almost instant. The '2-way' feature does not seem to work, messages seem to be web to mobile only. I did have to wait a few minutes when signing up for the confirmation email though, I imagine a confirmation text might have been faster.
