I am fixing a laptop which was cleaned with a much too damp cloth and now it beeps while showing the windows loading screen. It takes a minute longer to start up and inside Windows items would open multiple times even though I clicked on them once. The problem is a bad 'Enter' key. I removed the laptop keyboard and used a usb keyboard and windows loads and runs fine. Keeping my finger on the Enter key on the external keyboard gave the same beeping as when the original is in place. The beeps sound the same as a post beep but are about 3 per second. A new keyboard on Ebay is $15usd with free shipping.
