If you want to extract part of a spanned rar archive you normally need to download all of the parts of the series of files named "xyz.part1.rar, xyz.part2.rar, etc" or "xyz.r01, xyz.r02, xyz.r03, etc".
You will definitely need all the parts in tact and with no corrupt parts if the compressed files are executable in nature. If the compressed files are media in nature eg. pictures, video, sounds then may be able to get some of the files or a part of the files and be able to see/hear/play them.
The compressed files are initially extracted to a temp folder and then moved to the location you specified. In my case I am using winrar 3.7 in Windows 7 Ultimate and the files are extracted to C:\Users\Username\Appdata\Local\Temp\misc
* Replace Username with your windows username.
* The misc folder will be different names depending on the program involved.
Try to extract the files and check the folder for any files that were successfully extracted. It would help to sort the folder contents by date to see the newest folders\files. The extracted files are only present while winrar is waiting for you to tell it where to find the missing or corrupt spanned files so do not close winrar until you have copied the files from the temp folder to a new folder of your choice.
