Sometimes settings get messed up for no apparent reason and it can be very frustrating. I had problems with the touch screen on a floor standing copier where you had to touch the top left of the images of buttons for the machine to recognise the button you wanted. The touch screen calibration has gone off and needs to be recalibrated. It is a Toshiba e-studio 202. The process to fix it is as follows:
Press the energy saver button
Select 'Shutdown' and wait for the machine to turn off.
Press and hold the '0' and '8' digit buttons together then with the digits still pressed, switch the power button to ON.
After a few seconds you will hear a beep and then see a blank screen with 'Test Mode' on the top.
On the number pad enter '692' and press the 'Start' button.
You will see two cross-hairs with a pointer next to #1. Press the center of cross-hair #1 and then the center of cross-hair #2.
Note: you can use the top of a pen to accurately touch the screen and you may have to touch slightly off the center to get it registered.
After you press the center of #2 you will go back to the blank screen.
Turn off the machine with the power button.
Turn on the machine with the power button and try out the touch screen.
Note: You may have to repeat the process to get the calibration right. What worked for me is touching the top right of #1 and the center of #2 for the copier to be usable again.
This same process should work for other Toshiba e-Studio floor standing copiers/scanners.
